Now that we've gotten the bus up and running, so to speak, it is time to get the show on the road :)

In the mean time, I have big plans to make Shephard's Pie tonight in the wood burning stove. Going to give the "aluminum foil ball trick" a try - thanks Jeff for giving that suggestion in a comment a couple days/posts ago. I'll give a full report and recipe of how that works out later.
FYI - we've put a poll on the blog on the right hand side just under our picture. Fill it out, so we can see what you are interested in.
Finally - calling for vegan recipes! Leave your amazing recipes in a comment, and I'll review them and write a post about how awesome you are.
OMG! I made vegan pumpkin fudge using this recipe: http://www.healthdiaries.com/eatthis/vegan-pumpkin-fudge-recipe.html
ReplyDeleteI didn't have a candy thermometer at the time (I just bought one and have yet to use it), so I used the estimation trick that they describe in the recipe. If you have to do it this way, just know that it takes a good while for it to get to the right temperature. I think I was waiting for like an hour or something. The fudge came out AMAZINGLY though, so I highly recommend it.
Also, I made these vegan red velvet cupcakes with vegan cream cheese icing: http://macandcheesereview.blogspot.com/2008/02/vegan-red-velvet-cupcakes.html
As was said in one of the comments, I replaced a few tablespoons of oil with unsweetened apple sauce. They came out really well too. They were for my Halloween party, so I baked them with cherry pie filling in the middle so that they would "bleed". Yes!
